For your consideration is a vintage
HOFFRITZ Combo Opisometer Compass Map Mileage Converter Pencil & Original Leather Case.
The opisometer has a wheel that is placed in contact with the curved line to be measured and run along its length.
This instrument is used for measuring curved lines (as on a map) and consisting essentially of a screw with a disc-shaped  wheel that is made to rotate forward along the curved lines and then backward to its original position along a straight scale. Measures inches and centimeters.
Item is in used condition.
With signs of being used, such as scuffs, scratches, from age, use, storage and handling.
Compass needle needs adjusting/re-setting.
